Water Conservation and Earth Day
According to Dr. Angela Cameron from Sophisticated-Smiles, you can save water by wetting your toothbrush and turning off the tap when you brush. In fact, turning off the water while you clean your teeth saves as much as four gallons per person every single day. That is over 1,000 gallons every year, which is equivalent to one hundred 4-minute showers.
Toothbrushes for the 21st Century
Speaking of brushing teeth, did you know that you can purchase biodegradable toothbrushes that help save the planet? That’s right, these days you can buy eco-friendly toothbrushes with handles made out of bio-based plastic.
Not a fan of plastic? No worries as there are several types of toothbrushes on the market made from bamboo. Bamboo is sustainable and is an excellent alternative to plastic.
Drink from the Tap
Drinking water straight from the tap is better for you, your teeth, and the planet. Tap water has a more neutral pH than bottled water. With that being said, it’s important to note that some bottled waters are just as acidic as soda.
